Stop the bus

At the end of November and beginning of December South Africa create awareness around abuse against children and women. The campaign is 16 Days of activism. So I volunteer at Rape Crisis and this organisation is part of the campaign.
The organisation has been part of the campaign since 2006 its call STOP THE BUS. This bus goes to rural areas and farms outside of Cape Town. This was my third year that I've been on the bus. My experiences on the bus this year were different to the first two. I was with a new group of ladies we grew closer by the day.We work together to spread the word of hope and to create awareness. Our coordinator Babs did a great job she allowed us to have a say in the way the facilitation has to be done. There were three facilitators one social media person one counsellor one court supporter and the bus driver.
We left Cape town on the 30November at 9am we took the N1. The first crew took the N2 all the way to George and arrive back on 28 November. Our destination was Rawsonville near Worcester. We stayed at the Goudini Spa for three days and at Uitvlugt for two days. It was hard work lots of driving, walking, communication and explaining.
We visited farm, police station, courts and communities. We had workshops, talks and had pamphlet drop.
The place we visited were Saron, Wolesleyand De Doorn lots of driving. I facilitated at two venues and assisted at three workshops. The crew really work together lots of knowledge and love.
The people were open to receive they learned so did we. We need to do a follow up just to see whether the people receive the help they needed or whether they making use of the information we gave.
