I have always heard about this "Twitter" that everybody has been ranting and raving about and wondered what on on earth is this.......well, I felt like a twitter nerd whenever my friends boasted about  all of them doing this "tweeting" thing. Not want to feel like a nerd anymore, I decided to best start doing some research on Twitter....yes at least I know how to do online research so I am not that dense. Mmmmm....upon researching, I saw this cute little birdie and I thought yayyyy!!!!, no wonder people talk about tweeting, because it is your way of COMMUNICATING little birdie and mind you, your little chirping is what wakes me up most mornings. This was a novel and instant way of spreading the news. Even before it can be on radio or television! The alleged Boston bomber  had already warned his allies to sit tight and not panic! The news media has not even broadcast it! Instant messaging!

I do have Twitter on my phone heard about it but never ever used it, so thanks to R Labs for allowing me the opportunity to do some research. It was Saturday morning and I was all geared up and excited as this day we would be doing our very first blog. When I arrived at Rlabs on Saturday morning all the ladies were standing around buzzing with excitement. We were told to hang around a bit longer as there was a surprise awaiting us. Our spirits lifted as we entered we saw boxes thought to be pizza boxes and I thought "wow they spoiling us today" who doesn't wanna be spoilt? We then took our seats and Rene told us that she had some bad news and also good news. However we were anxious to hear the news but hoped that it did'nt affect us in any way. We were told that the bad is news that this would be our final class for this semester and the good news was that the Rlabs team was going abroad on a summer vacation. Immediately there was silence in the room and all the ladies looked very disappointing  I cannot explain how I felt, I thought "how can they do this to us in the middle of a semester?" Bu

Today's task at Rlabs Moms 6.0 class First of all I need to write a good tweet, there are 140 characters including punctuation's & spaces which should be used wisely. Try to avoid using text speak on twitter, eg: shortening words cos you not writing an sms. You should also have a twitter account. You can see the updates of people that you are connected with. You can also do business on twitter. You don't have to use twitter every day, you can even just view what others are saying. If you are using twitter for a business then you should have a professional looking image. If you are using twitter to represent yourself then a photo of yourself would be preferable. I would like to use twitter for my business.

I have met some amazing and strong , fun-loving women women like EVELYN and LIZZY who enjoys everything life has 2 offer. and KAREEMA and CAROLINE who are proud mothers to daughters whom i am sure has all the interesting and amazing qualities of their mothers. let us not forget about MILLICENT and ESME both whom are bubbly and funny people persons but alas we could only choose 1 person and i chose SHIRLEY DEJONGH  a single mom and self-employed people person Shirley is funny and loves 2 cook i think Shirley has an inner glow that draws people 2 her she reminds me of my mother a strong independent women with a mega personalty and a good heart.

Interviewed Dawn  Duarte at RLabs which was great fun. Dawn is a fun loving, outgoing person. Very helpful and loves animals. She is a florist by trade. Creates beautiful art with flowers. Getting to know Dawn is quite an experience because she is a fantastic person and will go the extra mile. She loves socialising tremendously and gives any party life. Her family means everything to her. Dawn is a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She has high expectations for her family. Her morals and values are very high. Religion is number one on her list. She sings in the choir and is a Sunday school teacher. With God everything is possible. I am really humbled to be called your friend.

On Friday I went to a party but it a theme  of sixties to which we  had to dressup we had so much fun dancing and      singing whad anight                                            

Hi, hey & hallo. I was so glad that the busy Easter weekend was over and looking forward to having some Me time (and less washing up time.)  RLabs is such a treat that its the highlight of my week. I could finally see my new friends and and do some serious catching up. I can only imagine the noise level in the lecture room! I'm sure they don''t mind too much. Got to RLabs and every one's outside and doing their catching-up thang.  I was "somma" excited. I didn't mind at all that we were running a bit late but when we eventually went in I thought to my self, ÿoh, lekker ne, we're having Debonairs! Wait! That's an apple on the box, Nooop... not Debonairs.  What's up now? A flood of emotions. Can you believe it? The RLabs team are going on some exotic vacation (without us, mind choo) and I'm not sure how I feel about this news. I'm not sure if I'm more upset about them leaving me behind or because they are cutting our course

Having a fab time with blogging. Hope all the Moms are enoying themselves...

 Can anyone tell me why we as mother's get blamed when our kids make mistakes, its never why didn't the father, its always the mother. Yet both parents play a part in the upbringing of our children, but yet society tends to blame the mother most of the time. I am in no way disrespecting the men, its just that its unfair that we often get labelled as the parent in the wrong when both have to accept responsibility for our kids. More than often we raise them the right way but because of outside influences they take a different route. Funny enough we as mom are expected to hold everything together and I suppose that's why we just automatically get blamed if things go wrong. I thank the Lord for creating us the way he did, because know I can endure all things.

April Fools at R Labs! What a joke! We arrived and were told to wait outside. When we entered, we sat down in front of a box with the Apple icon on and told not to open it. All of us! WE WERE TOLD THAT CLASSES ARE TERMINATED DUE TO THEM GOING ON HOLIDAY! CALAMITY! We were dumbstruck! And mad as hell! but most of them pretended to be okay with it.           #@*&%!  And    later were told:   IT IS A APRIL FOOLS JOKE!      @#$%&%$#@  ! That was the beginning of a tough week! BUT I SURVIVED!  Tough training! SOMETIMES LIFE FEELS LIKE A CRUEL APRIL FOOLS JOKE!  But just remember to COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS AND NAME THEM ONE BY ONE AND THEN YOU WILL SEE WHAT GOD HAS DONE.  

On Saturday 6 April 2013, I stepped into RLabs, all excited and looking forward to what we were going to do....boy oh boy!! Was I in for a surprise, or should I say SHOCK!!! Upon doing our normal CHECK-IN, I noticed we all had to gather in one big room (and mind you, we are three classes hey), well, my mind said what is going to happen, something mischievous must be brewing in the minds of the RLabs staff (as usual). Then the BIG announcement came.....thirty-five staff members are going on a GRAND HOLIDAY, while I still smiled broadly and thinking WOW!! How awesome for them, they spilled the samp, (not the beans as we would normally say), that this holiday is to happen immediately and classes will be stopped until their return in July......silence, complete silence filled the room. People's faces were expressionless, I could see mixed emotions flowing from inside their bodies right outside to their faces, now, imagine me looking at the rest of the group, I wondered what my face l

At RLabs we did do speed dating. We got an opportunity to meet other students. Today i was tasks do speak about other students. I got meet a few interesting people. I was very nice to get know them. What they do in life.It was a nice experience. I would like to know more about them. Speaking to them was very exciting for myself and for them. Thanks for everything .

I sam speaking out of experiene I do not know why children have sto put their parents through so much stress and anxiety .My kids wae raised to know the difference between right or wrong but yet there is no effedene of it .I know the there are many other parents who are sitting with the  prblem .I think that every parent raised the children well, but today kids walk all over you .as if you dont exist .I have put my foot ,talked you hame it idone it ,but how do you undestnd you childen when they dont want to tolk to you and tell you what ,s wrong ,We know they are going through alot e are different but why not talk to us tell us what ,s going on ,but ho that way uncool how its our problem. I thank god everyday, for his love and strangth that takes me through each day. Thank you Lord          

I can just thank RLabs for all the knowledge they share with us. We really do appreciate it a lot. It's amazing how much I learned in the last two weeks. I always wondered what Blogger was all about but finally, today I have my own blog. For me its very interesting what I can do and paste in my own blog, like photos and different stories. Even if I'm bored, I know where to go or what to do. Last week I was very sad for a short while because the RLabs team told us that it was or last class but fortunately it was a joke cause it's April Fool's month. After the class we had a day of the reflection and it was very emotional just to think where and how we started and how we grew in the one year we exist.I gain so much knowledge in my org.Last week we had a Train the trainer cause and it was great although i though it was vary simple to talk in front of people but believe me its not that easy.  

Last week 06 April  was and experience I will never forget.Coming to the class getting the good news that 30 staff members will be going on a holiday to the Caribbean boy was I jealous,only to find out that we all   was taken for April fools.I just want to salute all the volunteers and staff members for pulling this off and today meanwhile back at the ranch it is back to reality. My experience for the week was so inspiring as I was given the opportunity  to attend a Train the Trainer course through my organisation Young People at Work.I am a person who cannot speak in front of a small crowd lat alone a big one .I had the opportunity to present in class and was given feed back on where to improve and what I did well .I could go home and reflect an all the positive and not just negative comments.I am now feeling very confident about myself but still have a lot to learn. I just want to thank R Labs for giving me the opportunity to Blog.

Today is a happy day because I am at my favourite place,RLabs. Last week I felt very sad after we were told in one breath that classes were ending and the staff were going on a well deserved holiday. IMAGINE THAT! I had mixed feelings at that moment. Apologies were given and accepted, smiles were forced and exchanged and just as I thought it was really all over we told it was an April fools joke very well played you guys you can imagine the furore that followed,needless to say I for one was very happy to learn that it was just a hoax very well played RLabs . My past week was full of anticipation and excitement I am a crafter and have been given my first order to make gift baskets for Shirley and her team. I showed her a sample of my work today, I am feeling so good about myself. I will keep you posted about what she had to say about my very first gift basket. Shock er! wow, didn't know such a thing as speed dating exist. I was in for a surprise. I was introduced to speed dating at R Labs  This is how it went down.  I was given a time frame to learn as much about the other person, and I felt the vibe and pressure already. It  was noisy and slightly overwhelming. At first I tried to ask as many questions as possible, but that proved to be very exhausting indeed. The noise became to distracting and I soon discovered that to catch someone interesting I needed to have a better plan. So  I chose questions that reflected more about the person I was interviewing.  Some people are more interesting than others.  This is what I discovered in my short time, there are interesting, boring, intelligent, impressionable, vain, false, mood altering, quiet, loud, and all kinds of people out there. Some people disclose a lot and some people are very closed. Some try to be mysterious,. Funny how i could see through some people. I was intrigued to find

Our Social Media Classes are proving to be a big hit with the moms. Saturday classes are so full we have to bring in extra chairs and laptops as absenteeism doesn't exist. It seems that nobody wants to miss a class ,or miss out on the fun as well.                                                                                                                            Moms are saying that this is the best thing ever that has happened to them, as they learn in  a stress free environment and  a great sense of camaraderie exists among the moms as they are willing to help each other and have the best fun while laughing at their little mistakes. Teachers are so willing and eager to help the Moms as well. They planned an elaborate April's Fools Day joke on the moms.The entire class fell for it and great fun was had by all. To the dedicated team of teachers  at R Labs, a big Thank You to all. 

I went to rlabs one saturday morn and had an interesting morn there. Thought i'm having an early class but then we had a big surprice on hand for all of us there. One of the facilitators had good news and bad news for us all of us were surprised what is happening here today. Sitting and wondering we whispered to each other oooh whats going on.then we needed to hear the good news first. The good news came with a shock and all of us went WOW what now. The facilitator Rene   said they got a free holiday from some sponser but what about us now. I was thinking what must i do on a saturday morning at home now. Must i now go back to the usual things at home really i dont feel like it cause here at rlabs it was my me time so what now. We as the mom6 team had to introduce ourselve and tell how we feel. Most of us felt like we were 0's becuse we really enjoyed our mornings. We learned and we had fun so what now. Every single lady said how they feel about this whole thing and it was the

Busy packing to go away for the weekend, after returning from my weekend. Then I,m leaving for the week.Hope to enjoy myself.

  At Rlabs I met the most interesting people. A few caught my attention.I just want too tell u about my experience off speed dating. It was a really nice feeling learning about people in such a short time.We were a lot off women in the same room everyone with a different story.The moment you want too know more about someone your time is up.The speed dating is overall exciting and interesting and will surely do it again. When the whole dating thing was over I was so full off excitement that I just wanted too share my speed dating experience with my family.

Shahieda is a mother of  five children.She is also working. Shahieda have four wonderful grandchildren.She is a busy granny with her knitting and reading.

Imagine going to a class all enthusiastically , settling down only to hear that the course has been cancelled. My first thought: has some one run off with the money , nothing new in this fair land. Then to hear that the staff is going on holiday to a tropical isle. So that's where  its all gone.What type of disorganized association have i got myself involved with.   WHAT A RELIEF WHEN IT TURNED OUT TO BE A JOKE.   

I want to share with u what happened last week at  R-Labs.when we do our weekly CHECK-IN we get the surprise of our lives.They tell us is our last class I wanted to cry but I held back the tears. Then after everybody tell them how they feel they give us the GOOD NEWS that it was only a APRIL FOOL DAY joke  I feel better,but I still wanted to cry of the sock.The team is full of surprises and I like it.Every week I wonder what is happening next I cant wait to go to the classes on Saturday mornings I'm super excited to attend the classes. The week at home was busy as always with Young people at work with TRAIN THE TRAINER training it was fruitful.I was nervous but I get the nick afterwards then they give me homework to go home and prepare  for a preparation the next day.The next day when it my turn to do my preparation I was nervous even when I no I was ready I still make allot of mistakes.The trainer teach me allot.I got the courage to overcome my fear of speaking in front of a cla

The Jazz Festival was in Cape Town on Wednesday 3 April 2013.I was working there that day.Radio Goodhope was their.I had such a lovely time.I had to be working but i was dancing and singing to the music.

One of my most unforgetable weekend it was the 3rd week of the new year,a weekend not planned we took of 2 Hermanus ,the drive was fantastic!the beauty of our country is words can not explain,God is awesome we,relax,went for walks did some line dancing.easy food 2 eat,total relaxing                                                              

I came across a very exciting lady that's very fond of  outdoor life love running love to social and enjoying life favourite artist DIANE ROSS .She looks like a lady that can take everything that comes her way.

Rlabs is the best place for me to be on a Saturday morning. I wouldn't miss my social networking classes for anything.What a blessing and a privilege to be a part of this class. It is at this fantastic social network class and this is where  i met Evelyn Mehl. Evelyn is a very interesting lady who comes from the Bokaap. She is currently unemployed but she is actually a ex teacher who loves the outdoor life.Her hobbies are reading,having braais and socializing. She loves nature and wants to become a tourist guide. This really inspired me a lot as she is so full of life despite the challenges in life that she had to encounter. I admire her a lot because she is so friendly and always finds the time to socialize. I wish her the best of luck for all he r future endeavors and may God bless her and grant her the desires of her heart.

Last Saturday learnt about blogging,went home could not wait for the evening had a date with a Australian guy that my mother arrange for me can you belief.We went to Grand West had dinner until 12 after that went dancing had to tell this guy I must go home now at 2 in the morning did not do this in years.After that thing went on as normal.I live with my mom and sister my sister go to work my mom does charity work a non profitable organisation,so on a Tuesdays we cook food for the hungry in the neighborhood.This is the first time I ever did it alone,mom was asleep my daughter was off to school,and I thought lets do it and surprise my mom I did all the pealing of the veggies and started this big pot of soup, it was such a good feeling.The week went on as normal cleaning,cooking and the always the washing.Hear I am today learning more about blogging and feeling excited thanks Rlabs.

I came across a very interesting person while i was in the speed dating room.Her name is Magdelene, she does voluntary work with the youth in her community and she love doing things wit her hands like arts and crafts. She loves reading and shes  very devoted to helping the poor and the needy in the community...

In class today we had so much fun,first we had to check in.We had some bad news,the RLABS team told us that today was our last class.We were all sad.Everybody from all the classes got together,we had to say how we felt.When everybody was done checking in the RLABS team told us that they were going away on holiday and that is the reason why we done with our classes.When the team was all done checking in Rene told us that it was all a joke and it was an April fool joke,we were all laughing and in the same time we were all happy to hear it was all just a joke.

When started with my first classes with the Moms 6.0 at Rlabs I met a young lady.... briefly we started having conversations with each other.Having just our usual talks on life, she tells me of her life of partying, substance abuse and forgetting all about her family. You know how it goes when you young, free and with no responsibility... and when your bored. You get tempted to catch on all kinds of mischievious things. But enough about that, this young has left that life behind in an attempt to live a better life. Today she works for an organisation that empowers young women to start their own businesses.  Her story is truly inspiring to me as not many young people can seem to find their way back to the normal life... A life WITHOUT Drugs and Exploitation. To anyone going through the similar situation.. do not be afraid or be shy to ask for help if you want to change your life for the better. There is help through the Grace of God... Remember God loves you.

Kariema is a very ambitious lady.  She lives on the Cape Flats Kariema is married with  one child. She is fond of bright colours. She is a very creative person and is always willing to learn.  She loves reading, arts and crafts and is very fond of doing research work. Kariema is very keen on meeting new people and  socializing. What an inspirational woman. Kariema is always so full of life and very energetic.  She has not been to class for the past  two weeks and I am just wondering if she might be ill ....... Really missing her. What a gem..... Missing  her bubbly personality. Live life beautifully............. s  

The  weather today is cool and breezy and its a super day for rugby. Many sport fields have activities  and different games on  today. It is a splendid day for mums to be on the field with their children and to spend the day enjoying the sun and forgetting the housework and releasing stress. Maybe the hubby can takeover at home and surprise the family with a lovely meal and spotless home.

Last week I was on 10 then I came down to 0 but life is good and feel on top of the world God is good.It interesting being amongs the ladies because you learn things you thought you never be able to courage.  a lot

This is in honour of all single moms. Last week I had the privilege of meeting a single mom who is taking it upon her to empower herself, she is currently in a social media class with me. She is also passionate about helping sick children and the elderly. I take my hat off because coming from being a single parent for a while I know its not easy, that's why I look up to her trying to further empower herself. We should not allow a man to define us but be happy with ourselves and who we are and that God created us each unique and to be proud of ourselves. Big up to all the single ladies.

It was a great experience two weeks ago when the moms here at the RLabs academy got to do speed dating they where so chuffed about this new venture that they forgot all about the time and wish there were extra time for them to go on and on, well I must say the moms are real sport and it is an honor to have them here on a weekly basis.

It was vary nice of rlabs to give us all the oppertineties and that thay share there knowledge with us.Two weeks ago we learned about speed dateting and we learned alot of more of other classmates.i found it vary intresting to now so much of a person in three minets

My experience about speed dating was awesome within 3 minutes I learn about 10 very different people.Just to see themselves full of smiles as I learn more about them.We come to class every week but just greet and walk on last week gave me such a differnt view of each and  everyone I chat to.As I was chatting I learn thet we all share the same values which is our families

Hi all! Last week was an amazing experience, the lesson on speed dating was awesome. I got to know so much about an amazing group of people in all of 3 minutes. We all share a common goal to empower ourselves so that we can in turn help the less fortunate in our community. Young People At Work based in Bishop Lavis is a NPO. Well done, you are shining stars!   

What I found quite interesting about my first experience on speed dating, was how quickly you can get to know a person in such a short space of time, for example, I had to get to know a few people in about 3 minutes. Well, I  met nine ladies. Upon introducing myself to these ladies, the first thing I noticed, was the friendly smiles on their faces....that already put me at ease in their presence. It also made me more eager to want to learn more about them. Sometimes, you just get one or two persons that completely stand out from the rest, yet with my experience at that moment, strangely all of these nine ladies stood out for me. I actually had something in common with all of them. We were all mothers, unemployed, yet not just sitting at home doing nothing, we all have our own thing going...be it in the form of a small business, or just something to keep us busy, aside from the daily routine of taking care of our loving  families. etc  Yes, the sacrifices that we make as mothers, to kee

The experience was great fun.I really enjoy meeting such a lot of people in that sort time.I think what all have in commend is that everybody that i met is unemployed stay at home moms looking after someone. What I'v notes is that when u a  stay at home mom there is allot of work in it cause u do allot the hole day doing  cleaning,cooking and at the end of the day u so tired  of all the house work then it is night again.Housewife''s like to read,cook and relax.

I look towards Table Mountain to energise myself. My ancestors did the same,through the millennia.

To meet new people is always lovely. It's great to learn about their experiences so that those encouragement helps you in the future. You can be of encouragement for others as well. God uses us to be a testimony for Him every day. We sometimes just want to complain. With these complains you don't feel uplifted or enriched. I need to uplift my spirit every day and experience peace and love surrounding me. To learn new things and explore these new programmes on computer is GREAT! I am EXCITED! To BLOGG, WOH! I didn't imagine myself doing this ever. But through the GRACE OF GOD everything is POSSIBLE! PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME. LOVE IT!,

It was a great experience interviewing my classmates of Saturday mornings at Rlabs in Cape Town. The most outstanding lady to me, was called Ann.She is doing voluntary work, lend a helping hand where possible. Ann loves to socialize too.  As i have an Organization called Humble Beginnings Social and Welfare Organization we will start working together making a difference growing the nation touching lives.

That was so cool! I luv'd it! The Speed Dating was the first one-on-one opportunity that we had at RLabs to get to know each other and about each other. I didn't realise that the were so many mom's all together. everyone had a story to tell... so many stories, so little time.

It was a cool experience to learn about the moms not just in my class but about the other moms in the other classes .what they do and just what there live is about.It was fun learning about this blogging.

I have always read about speed dating and thought it was about finding a partner or a date. But at r labs i found that it a too was a wonderful tool to use as an ice breaker.
