Geeky Moms

Buyiswa was a homeless young lady residing @Sizamile Aged Home. She was suffering from stroke and was at the day hospital for her appointment. I introduced myself to her and her face brightened up when I speaking to her,exchanged contact numbers before parting our ways. Our relationship was an open book from the beginning. She had a daughter  Siviwe who was a student at CPUT ;her mum had a shack in Houtbay but wasn't interested in her from childhood. She went as far as grade 10 in school and from there she became a domestic worker and while still employed, she became pregnant. Her boyfriend was a soldier of Umkhonto weSizwe  so they were not together for a long time;although his family took care of her & the baby, but she missed him ! Eventually she got married to another guy who abused her verbally &financially, so she ran away. My name is Rene Parker and I am .... years old. I am one of the facilitators of the Geeky Moms class. It has been a pleasure to have been part of this for the past 10 years. Each year it gets more and more interesting and over the years while meeting all the women and being part of their journeys, it has been somewhat magical. My highlight of the Geeky Moms class is learning to know all the new ladies (or girls like we call ourselves). We have fun every week and we are learning some interesting things even though it feels like we are just having some girl time. For the first week we introduced the ladies to RLabs Geeky Moms by having some pampering time and signing up to Gmail. For the rest of the weeks we continued with all Google Apps (videos, images, maps, etc). We are getting to the last week of Geeky Moms and we are still having lots of fun. It is hard to think about only 3 things that others say about me as I think they can say many things. So let me choose only 3 for now...

Being married for 6 years and couldn't fall pregnant  I had 2 miscarriages in and out of hospital for tests I was on fertility drugs but to no avail being desperate i attended a healing service one Sunday evening during the service the pastor asked what would you like GOD to do for you i basically ran to the front I was prayed for and was told in exactly a years time you will have a baby and it was just so 1984 Sharlene 1986 Roshney 1990 Caleb that's my miracles absolutely.

My name is Safiyyah Seegers Ebrahim i am just an ordinary person just like any other i am a housewife sorry meant to say Home Executive and the queen of our domain,i was born in District Six,was 4years  old when we were evicted and banished to go live in Bonteheuwel...never the less i grew up there got married to my wonderful husband @ the age of 24years in December the 30 we will be married 33yrs God willing i also have a wonderful son who incidentally is also studying @Rlabs and has more certificates than me...what a proud mom i am really,also forgot to say i call my husband Magyver...why, he can do just about anything you guys and a very hard worker and good provider too,and the reason why i joined Rlabs is to help my husband get his business off the ground and meet some wonderfull people like y'all...what i can tell you the experience so far has been so awesome and fantastic the feeling of empowering yourself is unexplained...so happy i could tell you my story, hope we meet up ...

My name is Alice Meyer and I live in Bridgetown. My highlight of the Geeky Moms class was on the first day.The warm welcome we received and the treat of having a manicure.The atmosphere among the ladies was so warm and positive and that made me realize that I made the right decision in joining this class.Just very sad to think that next week is our last class,but I've  met really wonderful ladies and its made me realize that we all going through our own personal struggles and situations. Hi my name is Anthea I live in Silvertown. My highlight of the Geeky Moms class is the Enthusiasm and Interaction we as Woman of Strength have with each other,the emotions and stories that we can share and relate to with one another.It is a joy for me to be here every Saturday learning new ways of using social media and just to be among such beautiful souls.
