Geeky Moms

The vibe in the room is buzzing with anticipation as to what Julie Wills is going to talk about. After the morning being at church the women look hyped up and ready to receive, the room is filling up fast and the hot weather did not put anyone off. Monique is up and ready to record and Melissa and myself are blogging about the event, what an honour. It is nice to see more of the younger girls here with the mothers as it is important for them as well. Sharron opened with an encouraging word with lots of enthusiasm, prayer and praise, we have women with many talents in our church. The youngest lady at the meeting is only about five months old which does not know what is going on around here but being here in the presence of some strong women. WOW, what is session we had this morning with RLabs. Marlon Parker came in this morning and just shared with us about the things we have learned. He opened it up more to us as to how we can use what we have in our hands and also not to just let it stop at class but to utilise it with every moment we have. I am definitely going to starting blogging more often. As Marlon said we all have something are passionate about so why not blog about it. There are so many things that I never thought of blogging about but after today I was be blogging away. Thank you Marlon for taking the time out just to share with us and make us realise that we have so much in our HANDS.

We were suprise by our lecture for today being Marlon Parker, for a busy person that is so busy. He title was "what is up your sleeve" very interesting topic and gets more informative as we go in depth with each social network eg Facebook, twitter etc... We will be so equipped when we leave and i am hoping to be a lecture next year. I love giving what i have and learn to others, my next step is to get a laptop and internet connection to set up my own blog. This will be my sactuary as to say it like it is out there. I have started on a couple but just testers so i really have to sit and think about this one... so thank you to the team at RLABS for empowering me and the other ladies.

Today I'm so excited to be at this class cause it makes me realize that i have learnt so much and will put it in good use as from now on.

Two weeks ago I was rewarded with 2 tickets to the Two Oceans Aquarium in the Mom3.0 class. I was very excited because I have never been to the Aquarium. On Wednesday past, my husband and I set out on our journey to the Aquarium. When I arrived, I did not know what to expect. I'm very seldom amazed at things, but on entering I admired God's creation. I was taking pictures like I was the only one there. I was looking at the littlest detail of even the smallest fish and sea creatures I saw. We do not realise what beauty we have in our ocean and even I felt the excitement of the kids that was walking around. Standing with only a thick glass between me and a Shark was fun and that is the closest I even want to be with a Shark. I want to thank Rene Parker, Monique Ross and the RLabs for the opportunity to be AMAZED. Thank you and God bless.

This morning was the return of the moms and more importantly the return of Skype! Last week the Mom3.0 Cafe Session introduced the moms to Skype and this was part 2. At the beginning of the session the moms were asked firstly how there week was and secondly how they found Skype last week. Some of the comments included: didn't know such a thing existed, now I can call my brother overseas and see his new born baby, I can video call and instant chat at the same time and at this age who new I could learn something so exciting? Recently Skype introduced conference calling and we tested this with the moms as well. There was a bit of feedback on the laptops as they were all in the same room. This past week has been very exciting and emotional for me. My youngest daughter, Jodi, is finishing her matric year. It is particularly emotional because I had a very difficult time when I was pregnant with her. I had 3 miscarriages before I fell pregnant with her. I had to undergo lots of tests and even during the pregnancy I was monitored closely. As a mother to be, you tend to become anxious about the new addition to the family. But by the grace of God, I carried her full term and I gave birth to her without any complications. At the age of 2, she somehow got hold of Thinners, which we stored for somebody. She drank some and started crying, I guess because of the taste. She was then rushed to hospital where xrays was taken and the doctors told us too mush Thinners went into her lungs and that there was nothing they can do. Hi you lovely people ..at Moms 2.0 you neva have a dull moment i believe if you snooze you loose we were having a detailed run down on skype it was excited it feels so in touch with technology,the moms dont make you feel stupid they nuture you they help you along they are all God fearing and they just great..its the small things how to sign out how to add yr smiley faces etc its what makes the class exciting,it really needs a Wow! :-)Merle Simpson

I'm so glad to be back on the scene at the mom3.o class and very excited to learn even more.I feel very much empowered by the knowledge that i acquired through this class.

Hi everyone, been a while since i blogged but is excited at what is happening at Mom 3.0. As the year is closing it is coming closer to our graduation and i cannot believe where the year went. The time we spent together here for a few hours together we feel like a family already. Skype is awesome and i will definitely use it in the future as i going to need it for work and i am busy trying to get my company up and running with the social networking... we sometimes forget how the world was when a phone call overseas cost hundreds of rands but now with Skype we can see the person and not only speak for much cheaper.. so for everyone out there that is not connected, wake up and get connected!!

Good morning world, What an awesome day in Cape Town, South Africa. Today I am back home after a wonderful break away from home and work. My hubby and I left for Club Mykonos on Monday 18 Oct 2010 and just spent the 2 days together. on Tuesday evening @ 10pm our boys and Mikey joined us. From there on we just had fun, fun and more fun. The only thing I did not get to do was go in the heated pool because i am pregnant. Something I was not to happy about but I still enjoyed myself. Well today in class we are doing Skype which is so cool. Now I am connected so I chat to my friends and Family overseas and see what they are doing. Social media is something I never thought I would be so into. Not an addict but just a lover of Social media. This is things I have not thought of ever before. 5 years ago I would not have thought of this at all. Yes I know about things but not as I do today. Oh my haven't been blogging for a long time so right now I'm taking the opportunity to do just that. This was really a good year i have achieved I cannot wait to get my certificate for being able to become social part of the media world.

Today I feel very privallaged to be part of the mom3.0 class. We started with Skype last week and we are continuing this week. It is amazing what you can do with this application. I am simply enjoying this because it allows me to communicate in another form. I'm impressed with the fact that you make calls and video calls on skype. You can even make conference calls on skype. There are so many things you can do on the when you are connected to the world wide web and for me being part of it is so cool. Happy networking people

Good day world, another day of class with RLabs. Its the highlight of my week just coming to class and unwinding with the other moms, Even though i am the youngest mom in the class I never feel left out. Loads of mothers to learn different things from, awesome. I am currently in my 4th month of pregnancy. So far things are going well with Baby and I. The morning sickness has left but now and then it sticks it little nose out and makes me feel horrible. That is part of being pregnant so no complaints from my side. My husband and 2 boys cannot wait for the baby to arrive. Every day they ask when is baby coming. I know they are going to help me with their little sibling. I want to say that I am very proud of RLabs, the awards that you guys won. Its so good to be part of such and successful organization that is always availing themselves to the community. so much excitement, and challenges, took place in my life. I attended a" Heritage braai " day on 24th Sept. which was also my daughter"s 5th wedding anniversary, I realised how much I can contribute to life when the challenge arise, my main experience in this time was a choice I had to make between feeling sorry for myself in the time I was in a low "space"or thinking that there might be someone who may be going through worst than me, Im glad that I decided on the latter as my spirit was uplifted when just a smile from me to someone else could brighten both our day. Thank you Father for allowing me to attend that "braai".

Good morning have a day expecting surprises an miracles. My day very interesting an exciting, I gave my presentation on Facebook to day. I did it with confidence, and it went of well. Attending , the classes on Saturdays, gave me courage and determined in life for taking on challenges for greater things . I showed the class how to go into face-book and gave an explanation. BE BLESSED.

This morning I woke up full of energy. I started my travelling to the mom3.0 class. Got into a taxi and travelled to my destination. When I arrived at the class I started feeling very excited and I did not know where this feeling was coming from. Class started and only to hear we we're to do a presentation on one of the applications we have learnt thus far. We we're then asked who would like to go first,and the nervous me that never like to speak in front of people said I would like to start first. I then did my presentation on Twitter. I think I was in a way prepared this morning for what was awaiting me in class this morning. I am becoming really comfortable with using a laptop and computer and the things we we're taught to do on the laptops. Being empowered in this day and age is needed even if you not going to use everything that you have learnt. Oh and well done to the RLabs for winning the 3 awards, we are all very proud of you guys.
